Whistler Blackcomb: West Cirque
As the snow conditions were not fantastic, I entered West Cirque from the lower entrance around the huge cornice and worked my way down the high portion before cutting off over some huge cliffs onto the snowfield beneath Cory's Sword. From there, I skied down to West Ridge where I promptly took off my skis to hike all the way back up and recover my friend's who had taken an annoying fall.

Whistler Blackcomb: Gun Barrels

Skiing both Gun Barrel chutes (East and West) off the Harmony-6 Express on Whistler mountain. The conditions were quick icy for both yet skied quite well. I also went over into Wet Dreams where the snow was slightly better yet did not record it.
Jupiter Peak: East Face (Machete, O-Zone, P-Zone, and more)
Просмотров 2,3 тыс.2 года назад
Skiing 5 lines on Jupiter's East Face and Pinyon Ridge at Park City, Utah. The lines are P-Zone, O-Zone, Machete Chute, Twilight Chute into Toilet Bowl, and Hourglass Chute. Note that all of these were filmed in the same day (and last day of our trip in March 2021), so my technique and stamina are off.

    Anyone who does this be very careful going too far skiers left, you'll spend few hours trekking out in deep snow to Wheelerville rd or Rt 4, it flats out very quickly. You will completely miss the lower birches and the Outpost area. In good conditions it takes about an hour from the bottom of Outpost to the VT trans garage on alpine gear via the snowmobile trails.

      yeah dude. the pitch isn't even the half of it. it was wind exposed and icy af. I slipped and had to cut over just around the crown of the head wall. every one ahead of me slipped and almost fell or did fall. it was quite windy most of the time as well. much much more open than the current growth would lead you to believe. as far as how steep it actually though? no steeper than the summit poma at Hickory Hill. The problem was how slick the ski lines were. gawd I'll never forget getting pulled for 10' on my stomach. so embarrassing. 😆

    Is this supposed to be a double black diamond run at Park City at 3,017 m - it looks a regular black run to me except for the bottom section? How do you compare it to double black diamond runs at Whistler / Blackcomb (Saudan Couloir)? Trying to decide for next season whether to visit Telluride, CO, Park City, UT, Breckenridge, CO, Vail, CO (I've been there in the summer) with Epic Pass or Alpe d'Huez in France. Thanks.

    • @AdventuresOfGalen
      @AdventuresOfGalen 2 года назад

      While the bottom is steep, the camera makes the top look a lot less steep than it really is. I agree with you though, if you just ski the top and maneuver around the lower section the run really is only black in difficulty. And I was just at Whistler, and in my experience with the runs I did there (including Saudan Couloir), they were as steep if not steeper but were MUCH more exposed. For the resorts, I highly recommend WB and Telluride, although Vail and PCMR are fine. I can't peak for the French one.

      @@seanguo9366 Like I said, Whistler, in my experience, is steeper and much more exposed than Park City. Both are way too expensive :D
